Split Pea & Ham Soup

Ingredients

package of dried green split peas, rinsed
1
meaty hambone, 2 ham hocks, or 2 c diced ham

carrots, peeled and diced
1/2
cup onion, chopped
2
ribs celery, chopped
2
cloves garlic, minced
1
bay leaf
1/4
cup fresh parsley, chopped or 2 t dried parsley flakes
1
tbsp seasoned salt
1 1/2
qt hot water
Directions
1.
Add everything to pot and cook on low for 5-6 hours. Peas should be soft and ham should fall off the bone. Remove bones and bayleaf when finished cooking. Mash peas to thicken more, if desired.
