Deep Fried Turkey

Who doesn't fry their turkey for the holidays?! If you're from the South, that's the only option. We love the juiciness, ease and quick cooking time of frying a turkey.

Prep
Cook
Serves 10people
Ingredients
butter-jalepeno marinade for injection
3
gal peanut oil (or canola oil)
15
-lb. turkey
1/4
cup cajun seasoning
Directions
1.
Rinse turkey thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Inject with marinade. Rub creole seasoning over the turkey inside and out.
2.
Heat oil to 400 degrees in a large stock pot. Be sure to leave room for the turkey or the oil will spill over.
3.
Slowly lower turkey into hot oil using an appropriate apparatus until turkey is completely covered. Maintain the temperature of the oil at 350 degrees F and cook for 3.5 minutes per pound. About 45 minutes on average.
4.
Make sure the internal temp of the turkey reads 180 degrees F.
5.
Cool, carve and serve.
