Custard Slices

Dutch deliciousness, made from scratch. :)

Ingredients

cups Cold milk
1
cup Sugar
4
Egg yolks
1
/2 c. Cornstarch
1
tbsp Vanilla
3
tbsp Butter
1
(250 ml) Carton of whipping cream
1
/4 c. Butter
1 1/2
cups Icing sugar
1
tbsp Milk
Directions
1.
Line a 9X13 pan with graham crackers.
2.
In saucepan combine milk, sugar, egg yolks and cornstarch. Boil until thickened, stirring constantly.
3.
Remove from heat and add in vanilla and first amount of butter.
4.
Spread over graham crackers and allow to cool.
5.
Spread whipped cream over top the cooled custard. Top with another layer of crackers.
6.
Make icing and spread over top layer of crackers. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
