Goy Vey Breakfast Sandwich

My roommate Nick and I love eating at our local Cracked Food Truck on the U of I campus. By thorough research and investigation (read: eating it a lot), we have replicated one of the best sandwiches.

Prep
Cook
Serves 1person
Ingredients
1
egg
2
slices hard salami (thick or thin)
2
slices bacon
1
potato
3/2
tbsp butter
2
slices white american cheese
4
baguette bread
3
ozs cream cheese
1
oz red pepper jelly
hotsauce (sriracha)
paprika
cayene pepper
salt
pepper
Directions
1.
***First we have to make the sweet and spicy cream cheese. However, we can not figure out the recipe and have not been able to replicate it correctly. As follows is a close fix. Mix and shred red pepper jelly until liquid. Mix cream cheese in separate bowl until light and fluffy.Mix in hot sauce and pepper jelly. Set aside.
2.
Shred potato into large bowl filled with cold water. Stir until murky. Drain, and fill with cold water. Stir until murky, drain, and then pat dry.
3.
Heat butter into a pan again, sprinkle shredded potato and season with cayenne, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for five minutes.
4.
Fry bacon in pan.
5.
Once halfway cooked, fry egg in another saucer while frying salami in another with small amount of olive oil.
6.
Let cook for three minutes.
7.
Slice baguette. Layer as follows: cream cheese, hashbrowns, salami, cheese, eggs, bacon.
