Penne Pasta With Meat Sauce

Ingredients
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Onion Chopped

tsp Italian Seasoning
dash Crushed Red Pepper

cloves Garlic
1/2
tsp Thyme
Salt & Pepper
Penne Pasta
1
lb Ground Beef
28
oz Diced Tomatoes
1/2
tsp Basil
1
tsp Sugar
Parsley Flakes
Directions
1.
Heat to boiling approx. 2 quarts of water. Once boiling season with salt and add penne pasta. Cook until al dente then drain.
2.
Heat large pan then add extra virgin olive oil. when oil begins to smoke add the chopped onion. Cook for 5 minutes.
3.
Once onions are soften, add Italian seasoning and red pepper. Cook an additional minute.
4.
Add garlic and thyme and season with salt & pepper. Once garlic is fragrant remove from heat and set aside.
5.
In a separate skillet, brown the ground beef and drain.
6.
Add the ground beef to the onions and garlic mixture and place on medium high heat.
7.
Add tomatoes, basil, and sugar. Once sauce is beginning to simmer move to low heat and cook for 10-15 minutes.
8.
Adjust seasonings if needed. Add pasta until desired amount is reached and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
