Parker House Roll Recipe Pbj

This is the Jessen family's favorite recipe for Thanksgiving (and any other large family holiday gathering!)

Prep
Cook
Serves 15people
Ingredients
2
cups milk scalded
1/2
cup butter
1
tbsp salt
2
eggs
1/2
cup sugar
5-6
cup of flour yeast (2 pkgs)
Directions
1.
Melt butter in the milk, activate the yeast in 1/2 c. warm water and add to the milk and butter when it cools enough that it won't kill the yeast then stir in the sugar, beaten eggs, and salt and slowly add flour until the dough is sticky to the touch.
2.
Let rise until doubled. Roll out on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick.
3.
Cut into 3"-ish diameter rounds (a jar lid works well).
4.
Dip 1/2 of each round in melted butter and fold the round in half with the butter dipped half on the bottom onto a cookie sheet. The rolls can touch, but don't crowd them too much.
5.
Let rise again until double and bake for 20 mins until golden brown. Allow 2-3 hours.
6.
Eat hot with butter and jelly.
7.
NOTE: If your gathering is smaller, the excess dough makes unbelievable cinnamon, caramel or pecan rolls. The recipe will make enough rolls for 12-15 people depending on how big you make them and how much they eat! Dough can also be refrigerated after the first rise and made into rolls later.
