Desi Macaroni On Garlic Toasty

Ingredients
For the Toast (makes 6 toasts)
3
tbsp Vegan Butter (try brand named Becal)
10
cloves of garlic, minced
2
tsp chilli flakes
1
tbsp oregano flakes
6
slices of bread
1
cup vegan cheese (try brand violife)
salt, to taste
For the Macaroni Pasta (Desi Style)
3
cups macaroni pasta
2
cups diced onions
3
cups diced tomatos
2
tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1
tbsp red chilli powder
3
tbsp oil
1
tsp hing
1/2
cup vegan cheese
salt, to taste
black pepper powder, to taste
Directions
For the toast (makes 6 toasts)
1.
Take a small vessel and add butter in it
2.
warm up the butter till it melts on low flame
3.
add the minced garlic and heat for 1 minute
4.
turn off the heat and add all spices, mix well
5.
lay out the 6 slices of bread on an oven baking sheet
6.
spread equal amount of spice mix we made on the slices
7.
divide the cheese on every slice, ensure you do not spread the cheese all the way to the edge
8.
pre-heat your oven on 375 for 15 minutes
9.
place the bread in the oven and wait for about 12 minutes before it is ready to be served
Boiling the pasta
1.
take a pot with water and bring it to boil
2.
add 1 tbsp oil and a pinch of salt to the boiling water
3.
add your macaroni pasta to the boiling water and cook till the pasta is soft (approximately 10-12 minutes)
4.
strain the water and rinse the pasta in cold water to ensure they don't stick with each other
Desi Macaroni
1.
Take a wok / kadhai and heat oil
2.
once the oil is hot, add hing followed by jeera
3.
Add onions and cook till they are translucent
4.
Add tomatoes and cook for 1 minute
5.
add the red chilli powder
6.
cook till the tomatoes start oozing a little bit oil
7.
add the boiled macaroni and keep turning it (softly)
8.
add vegan cheese and continue turning till it melts
9.
add salt to taste
10.
add black pepper to taste
11.
Serve the macaroni on top of the garlic toasts we made
12.
optionally) garnish with chopped cilantro
