Turmeric Ginger Tea

Ingredients
300
ml water
2
inch piece of turmeric
1
inch piece of ginger
4
cardamom pods
1
tsp peppercorns
3
tbspn rock sugar or honey
Directions
1.
Peel the turmeric and cut iinto slices. (Fresh turmeric stains more so wear gloves if you don’t want the stain in your hands.)
2.
Pound the turmeric root, ginger, palm candy, peppercorns and cardamom seeds together coarsely in a mortar and pestle.
3.
Boil a cup of water and once it comes to boil, add the pounded ingredients and boil for a few minutes.
4.
If you are planning on taking this tea before bed time, grate nutmeg into it and then strain.
5.
Optional) If you want to add milk and drink it as a comforting drink, add it after straining. While using it as a remedy for treating phlegm and indigestion, don’t add milk.
