Never Fail Fudge

Handwriting by Nana … Found in her stash of recipes Nana... Was a great baker. She would go to her Susie's and bake Christmas cookies every year. It was always her favorite thing to do around the holidays :)

Ingredients
5
cups sugar
2
small cans (5oz) evaporated Milk
1/4
lb (i stick) butter
1
jar (16 oz) Marshmellow creme
1
tsp salt
1 1/2
tsp vanilla
1
cup nuts (i use more and I use walnuts or pecans
2
large pkg (12 oz) choc. chips
Directions
1.
Combine first 5 ingr. in large pan
2.
Stir over low heat until blended.
3.
Bring to boil over moderate heat
4.
Being careful not to mistake escaping air bubbles for boiling.
5.
THEN BOIL SLOWLY STIRRING CONSTANTLY FOR 5 MIN. ... SOFT BALL STAGE
6.
Remove from heat, stir in chocolate chips, vanilla and nuts until chocolate is melted.
7.
Pour into a glass pan well buttered and cool.
8.
MY GLASS PAN THAT I USED WAS 16X11.
