Honey Chocolate Pie

This is very rich and sweet, so bake it when you'll be having several friends over. If you have extra filling, put it in a custard cup and bake alongside the pie.

Ingredients

9-inch deep-dish pie shell, unbaked

oz semisweet chocolate
1/4
cup butter (2 ounces)
1
can (12 oz) evaporate milk
1/2
cup honey
1
cup sugar
3
tbsp cornstarch
1/4
tsp salt
2
large eggs, beaten
1/2
cup whipping cream, or canned whipped cream
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.
Buy a ready-made pie shell or make your own from any standard recipe or any of the piecrust mixes.
3.
Prepare your pie crust before starting the honey chocolate mixture.
4.
Melt the chocolate and butter together in the microwave.
5.
When melted, remove the mixture from the heat and blend in the evaporated milk, stirring all the time.
6.
In a separate mixing bowl, blend together the honey, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
7.
Beat in the eggs.
8.
Add this mixture to the chocolate mixture slowly, beating all the time.
9.
Pour this filling into the waiting pie shell.
10.
Bake the pie uncovered for 40 minutes.

Then cover it lightly with aluminum foil and bake it for 20 minutes more until the top is puffed. Cracks sometimes show in the center.
12.
Cool for an hour and then refrigerate.
13.
Serve cold with whipped cream piled on it.
14.
Dribble a thin trickle of honey beads over the whipped cream.
