Chop: 4-5 stalks celery, 2 medium onions, 1/1/2 raisins,1 1/2 2 lb pork sausage, 1-2 apples

A day or two before, put slices of bread on a tray to dry. be sure bread is dry before using.

Next Day: Break bread into 1-11/2 inch pieces in large bowl. Fry pork sausage, put on plate to cool, drain liquid. Chop celery, onions, raisins, pork sausage, and apples. Fry chopped ingredients with water (not wtaer from settlings), and i stick butter until soft. Cool.

Add cooked ingredients to cubed bread, add settlings broth from sausage, poultry seasoning, chili powder, eggs, salt and pepper to taste ( depending on amount in sausage).

Grease baking dish with butter. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then 325 until done.

If dressing is dry, water may be added before baking or add chicken broth or gray after dressing is done. I add kitchen Bouquet to make dressing darker before serving.
