Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

cups all-purpose flour
1/2
tsp baking soda
1
cup Fleischmann's unsalted spread, softened
1
cup granulated sugar
1
tsp vanilla extract
1
egg
Colored sugar crystals or decorator icings, optional
Directions
1.
Combine flour and baking soda; set aside. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat spread, sugar and vanilla until creamy, about 5 minutes.

Beat in egg until light and fluffy. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Divide dough in half; wrap in plastic wrap. Chill dough 1 hour.

On floured surface, roll half the dough to 1/8-inch thickness. With floured cookie cutters, cut out cookies. Repeat with remaining dough, re-rolling scraps as necessary. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored crystals if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden. Remove from sheets; cool on wire rack. Decorate with icings as desired.

Store in airtight container.
