Directions

Melt 4 squares unsweetened chocolate and 1/4 cup butter or margarine in top of double boiler over boiling water. In large mixer bowl combine sifted powdered sugar, maraschino cherry juice, 1/4 cup milk, vanilla and salt; mix well.

Add hot chocolate mixture, blending thoroughly. Chill 10 minutes. Beat with electric mixer at high speed until at spreading consistency, about 3 to 5 minutes, or beat vigorously by hand. Stir in 12 chopped maraschino cherries.
