Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan. Let cool. In separate bowl, mix next 5 ingredients. Gradually add flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in chocolate. Add nuts and cherries. Spread mixture in 9 x 13" greased pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool before cutting 2" squares from pan. Makes approximately 2 dozen.
