Easy Chocolate Pie

Note: the sweet chocolate bar was 29 cents when grandma had this recipe!

Ingredients

9-inch graham cracker or vanilla wafer pie crust
1
large (29 cent) sweet chocolate bar with almonds
1
cup thick cream, whipped
Additional slightly sweetened cream
Shaved chocolate
Directions

Make pie shell with 1/ 1/2 cups of crumbs and 1/3 cup of melted butter and chill thoroughly.

Soften chocolate in a double boiler over simmering, not boiling water. Then remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly while whipping cream. Whip cream until stiff and shiny and fold into the chocolate. Pour into the pie shell and chill thoroughly. To serve, cut in wedges, top with additional slightly sweetened whipped cream and garnish with shaved chocolate. This will make 8 servings.

If desired this mixture may be served in small tart shells for individual servings.
