Combine milk, chocolate bits, and salt in 1 quart bowl. Microwave 8 minutes on 50%, stirring periodically. Chocolate will melt and mixture will thicken. Add marshmallows, stirring until they melt and mixture is smooth.

Cool mixture to room temperature. Line bottom and sides of 9-inch pie pan with vanilla wafers. Cover with half the cooled chocolate mixture. Spread on softened ice cream and top with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with chopped nuts then freeze until firm, at least 5 hours.
