Ingredients

cup graham cracker crumbs, about 2 packages

tbsp butter, melted

tbsp unflavored gelatin

tbsp cold water

cups milk

cup sugar
4
eggs, separated
1 1/3
tbsp cornstarch
1
tsp vanilla
1 1/2
square unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2
tsp cream of tartar
1/2
cup sugar
1
cup whipping cream
2
tbsp sugar
Directions
1.
in 7 x 12" oblong glass baking dish, mix together cracker crumbs and melted butter.

Press crumb mixture firmly and evenly to cover bottom of dish. Microwave 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on 70%, until no longer crumbly. Cool thoroughly.

Dissolve gelatin in cold water.
4.
In 4-cup glass measure combine milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 4 slightly-beaten egg yolks, and cornstarch. Microwave 8 1/2 - 9 minutes on 80% until thick, stirring at half-time and each minute thereafter.

When thickened, add vanilla and dissolve gelatin. Set aside 1 cup hot custard mixture.

To remaining custard, add melted chocolate. (Melt in custard cup about 2 1/2 minutes on HIGH.). Spread on cooled crust.
7.
Beat 4 egg whites with cream of tartar, and gradually add 1/2 cup sugar after egg whites become foamy. Beat until soft peaks form.
8.
Fold into reserved plain custard. Spread over chocolate filling. Refrigerate.
9.
After thoroughly cooled and set, whip whipping cream with 2 tbsp sugar. Spread over pie. Sprinkle with grated or curled chocolate before serving.
