Baked Custard

Ingredients

whole eggs or 4 egg yolks
1/4
cup sugar
1/4
tsp salt
2
cups scalded milk
1/2
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Beat eggs slightly, add sugar and salt. Add hot milk slowly, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into casserole or ramekins and set in a pan of hot water. Bake in a slow oven, 325 degrees for about 40 minutes or test by inserting knife in center. If it comes out clean the custard is done. Allow 25 to 30 minutes for baking small molds of custard.
