Pumpkin Or Squash Pie

Ingredients

unbaked pie shell

eggs, slightly beaten
1
cup sugar
1
tsp salt
1/2
tsp cinnamon
1/2
tsp nutmeg
1/2
tsp ginger
1/4
tsp cloves
2
cups scalded milk
2
cups pumpkin or squash, cooked
Directions
1.
Line a pie plate with pastry and make a fluted standing rim. Combine slightly beaten eggs, sugar, salt and spices, gradually stir in the scalded milk, then pumpkin or squash, which has been cooked and strained. Turn into pastry-lined plate and bake in a hot oven, 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to moderate, 350 degrees and bake 20 to 25 minutes longer, or until knife comes out clean when inserted in te center.
