Standard Two Egg Cake

Ingredients

cup butter or margarine
1
cup sugar

eggs, unbeaten
2
cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2
tsp baking powder
1/2
tsp salt
3/4
cup milk
1
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Combine butter and sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

Sift cake flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt and sift together three times. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beating until smooth after each addition. Add vanilla and blend. Turn into two deep eight inch layer cake pans which have been well greased and bake in a 375 degree oven for about 25 minutes, or until done. Or, turn into a loaf pan 8 x 8 x 2" in size and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes, or until done.
