Semi Sweet Chocolate Bavarian

Ingredients

envelopes (2 tbsp) unflavored gelatin
1
cup sugar, divided
1/4
tsp salt
4
eggs, separated
2
cups milk
1
(12 oz) package ( 2 cups) semi-sweet real chocolate morsels
2
tsp vanilla extract
2
cups heavy cream, whipped
Directions

In large saucepan, combine gelatin, 1/2 cups sugar and salt, set aside. In small bowl, beat egg yolks and milk; stir into gelatin mixture. Add Semi-sweet Chocolate morsels and cool over medium heat, stirring constantly until gelatin is dissolved and morsels are melted (about 8 minutes). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract. Chill, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon. In large bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining 1/2 cup sugar and beat until very stiff. Fold in chocolate mixture. Fold in whipped cream. Turn into 8-cup decorative mold. Chill in refrigerator until firm. Unmold onto serving plates. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
