Apple Pork Chops

The apples bring autumn to mind but my family loves it anytime. The basic recipe comes from a cook book I got as a wedding gift 35 years ago and still have!

Prep
Cook
Serves 4people
Ingredients
4
center cut pork chops
1
tbsp of olive oil
1
can (14.5 oz) of chicken broth
2
apples cored and cut in half (cross cut to get a top & bottom)
4
tbsp brown sugar
1
pt sour cream
1/8
tsp curry (optional)
Directions
1.
Core and cut the apples. Brown the pork chops in the olive oil then add the chicken broth to the pan. Place the apples skin side down on each of the pork chops and fill the centers with brown sugar. Cover and simmer until chops are tender. Remove the pork chops and apples from the pan and keep them warm. Add the sour cream to the juices in the pan and make a gravy. Add corn starch or flour to thicken it up if you want and add curry to taste. It is delicious with or without the curry. I love to serve this with rice because the sauce tastes so good poured over it all.
