Virgie's Coffee Cake

I discovered this cake when our friend, Ann, made it for fireworks night at BYC. It was love at first taste! I might double the crumb topping!!!!!

Ingredients
FOR THE CAKE

cup butter
8
ozs cream cheese, softened

eggs
1 1/4
cups granulated sugar

tsp pure vanilla extract

cups all-purpose flour
1
tsp baking powder
1/2
tsp baking soda
1/4
tsp salt
1/2
cup milk
FOR THE CRUMB TOPPING
1/3
cup brown sugar
3
tbsp butter, softened
1/2
cup all-purpose flour
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour a 9x13x2-inch pan.
2.
In medium bowl, combine topping ingredients until crumbly.
3.
In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
4.
In stand mixer with paddle attachment, cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
5.
Alternately add flour mixture and milk to creamed mixture. Pour into prepared pan. Scatter topping evenly over batter.
6.
Bake cake 35 minutes, until tester comes out clean.
7.
NOTE: This recipe make a thin cake, but can be doubled using the same size pan.
