cups toffee candy pieces (suggest using Heath’s Toffee Bits found in chocolate chip aisle)
1
can sweetened condensed milk (suggest using Eagle Brand Milk)
1/2
cup chocolate chips
Directions
1.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease (suggest using Pam) a 13x9 baking dish. Set aside.
2.
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, and veggie oil with an electric mixer. Stir in ½ cup of your toffee pieces. Press 2/3 of your cake mixture into the bottom of your baking dish, set aside the other third. Bake 15 minutes.
3.
While it’s baking, combine condensed milk, chocolate chips, and remaining one cup of toffee bits in a small bowl.
4.
Remove baking dish from oven after 15 minutes and pour your condensed milk mixture down over the top. Spread it out evenly. Take the remaining 1/3 of your cake batter and sprinkle it out over the top of the dish. (You won’t completely cover your pan with the extra cake batter… just dot it around the top.) Put the dish back in the oven and bake it another 25 more minutes.
5.
After it’s finished baking, let it cool on the counter about 5 to 10 minutes before covering it and putting it in the fridge at least one hour before serving. Slice chilled bars and serve.
