Masala Puri/Masaalpuri Bangalore Street Food

small stone flower/kalhoovu

green chilli

or 2 red chillies

clove of garlic

tbsp fresh/desiccated coconut
few strands of coriander leaves

3 mint leaves
tamarind pulp
salt to taste

tsp oil
garnish
finely chopped oninon
finely chopped tomato
grated carrot
pinch of chaat masala
spicy mixture

Directions
1.
Pressure cook tuvar dal, potato and carrot until soft. Transfer the cooked dal to a thick bottom vessel and mash it up.
2.
Roast all the remaining ingredients mentioned under gravy(except coriander leaves,mint, tamarind pulp & salt).Grind it with the items mentioned in the bracket along with cooked potato and carrot. Mix the ground paste with the dal and let it boil to a medium consistency.
3.
Assemble masaalpuri - Crush puri in a plate, add the hot gravy,sprinkle cooked peas and all the items mentioned under garnish in the same order.
