Polish Mistakes

Sue got this recipe from someone at Duke Power in the 1970's. This has been a hit at parties through the years. Some of our kids think it cannot be Christmas without Polish Mistakes

Ingredients

lb ground beef
1
lb sausage
1
lb Velveeta Cheese
1
tsp oregano
1
tsp garlic powder
1-1 1/2
loaves party rye bread
Directions
1.
Brown ground beef and sausage together; drain. Cube the cheese and melt into the meat mixture. Add seasonings. Simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Place 1 tablespoon onto each slice of party rye; place on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 8 to 10 minutes or until bubbly. If you plan to make ahead, put the mixture on the rye bread, place on baking sheet and freeze. Once they are frozen, put them in plastic bags and keep in freezer. You can then take out as many as you want and pop into the oven.
