Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

A delicious summer time treat

Ingredients
3/2
cups fresh strawberries (hulled)
3/4
cup whole milk
1/2
cup organic cane sugar (can substitute with honey or maple syrup)
pinch of salt
3/2
cups heavy whipping cream
1
tsp vanilla extract
use organic ingredients whenever possible
Directions
1.
Use hand mixer on low speed to combine milk, sugar (or other sweetener), and salt until sugar is dissolved.
2.
Mix in heavy cream and vanilla.
3.
Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours or up to 24 hours.
4.
Right before making the ice cream, chop strawberries (I use my mini chopper) until finely chopped.
5.
Stir strawberries into the milk/cream mixture and then pour into ice cream machine.
6.
After 20 minutes, the ice cream should be ready.
7.
Freeze until desired hardness (I do about 30 min) and serve!
