Caramels

Got this from Jane Higley! Very lovely caramels, even lovelier lady!

Ingredients
2
cups sugar
1
cup light corn syrup
2
cups cream, divided
1/3
cup butter
1/2
tsp salt
1
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Combine Sugar, syrup, and 1 cup cream, bring to a boil- cook 10 minutes after it comes to a boil.
2.
Slowly stir in 1 cup cream, cook 5 minutes.
3.
Add butter (1 Tbs at a time) Stir constantly!
4.
Turn heat to low, cook slowly to 240 degrees (hard ball) remove from heat and add salt and vanilla.
5.
Stir gently, let stand 10 minutes.
6.
Pour into buttered 8" pan, cool until firm.
7.
Refrigerate to make firmer.
