Italian Spaghetti Sauce

This came from the legendary recipe box of my Grandmother. It's old and stained so I know she used it all the time. Very comforting and not for the novice.

Ingredients
8
cloves minced garlic
2
chopped onions
1
chopped green pepper
1
can (3 oz) mushrooms, reserve liquid
2
tbsp olive oil
1
can (6 oz) tomato paste
1
large can tomatoes
3
cups water
4
beef bouillon cubes
2
tsp oregano
1
tsp basil - or you may substitute the basil, thyme and salt with with Italian Seasoning
1/4
tsp thyme
1
tsp salt
1/2
tsp pepper
1
tbsp dried parsley or 6 fresh sprigs
1
bay leaf
1
lb ground chuck or your favorite meat balls
Directions
1.
Cook first 4 ingredients in olive oil until tender.
2.
Add remaining ingredients and bring to simmer.
3.
Add your favorite meat balls if desired and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
4.
One pound ground chuck may be added with just 4 ingredients if meat sauce is desired.
