From Grandma Louise. She always said you can only make this on a completely clear day - and she's right! She always made this sweet treat for Christmas.

Ingredients
2
cups sugar
1/2
cup water
dash salt
1/2
cup corn syrup
2
egg whites, stiffly beaten
1
package package pecans (optional)
Directions
1.
Bring sugar, water, and corn syrup to medium boil (240 degrees).
2.
Slowly pour 1/3 of sugar mixture over egg whites, beating constantly.
3.
Cook rest of sugar mixture to 265 degrees and beat into other mixture.
4.
Candy is done when it holds its own shape.
5.
Press 1 pecan into top of candy if desired.
