Tante's Chili

This is the chili I make the most and it's the chili that I have overheard Ian say he compares most chili's to...

Ingredients

tbsp olive oil, divided
1
medium sweet onion, chopped
1
green bell pepper, chopped
2
large stalks celery, finely chopped
1
lb lean ground turkey
1/2
tsp red pepper flakes, optional
1
tsp dried oregano
1
can (14 oz) petite diced tomatoes
1
can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2
cups water
1 1/2
ground cumin
1/4
cup chili powder
1
tsp sea salt
1
head broccoli, finely chopped
2
cups cooked black beans
2
cups frozen, organic corn
Directions
1.
Heat 1 t. oil in stockpot or dutch oven and brown ground turkey, drain turkey and set aside in a bowl.
2.
In same pot heat 1 T. oil and add onion, green pepper, celery and oregano. Saute until onion wilts (4-5 Mins).
3.
Add diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, water, cumin, chili powder and salt. Stir and bring to a bowl. Simmer for 30 minutes.
4.
Add broccoli and beans, simmer for additional 20 minutes and add frozen corn, stir until heated.
5.
Serve with sour cream on top.
