These are best to be served fresh, you can also dip the tops in chocolate and put crushed candy canes for christmas

Ingredients

tsp baking powder

cup whole blanched almonds

eggs

cup white sugar
1/3
cup melted butter
2
tsp vanilla
1/2
tsp almond extract
1 1/2
tsp grated orange rind
1
egg white slightly beaten
Directions
1.
In large bowl combine flour baking powder and almonds. In separate bowl whisk together eggs sugar butter vanilla almond extract and grated orange rid, stir into flour mixture until soft sticky dough forms. Transfer dough to floured work surface and form dough into a ball then divide in half, roll into logs then transfer onto I greased cookie sheet. Brush tops with egg whites and bake at 350 for 20 mins, remove and let cool for 5 mins then cut diagonally approx 1in pieces and return to oven for another 15 mins
