Breakfast Bars

This recipe is meant to be a guideline more or less. So that you can swap out cereals, fruits and nuts

Ingredients

cups rolled oats or steel cut
2
cups crunchy cereal crunched up (corn flakes, rice crispies, chex, etc)

cups dried fruit, nuts/seeds, coconut, etc
1
cup chocolate chips (or any kind of chip you like)
1/3
cup Flax Seed Meal
1/2
cup honey
1/2
cup peanut butter
1/4
cup pancake syrup
1
tbs canola oil
1/4
cup brown sugar
1
tsp vanilla
1
tsp salt
cooking spray
Directions
1.
Toast oats, nuts and flax seed meal in frying pan or in oven for about 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally to keep everything from burning.
2.
In a small sauce pan over low to low-med heat stir together honey, pancake syrup, brown sugar, oil, peanut butter vanilla and salt until it starts to bubble.
3.
In a large bowl mix together the toasted items and any other fruit and nuts you want to go in the bar.

Next pour in bubbly mixture and mix until all is coated and thoroughly mixed.
5.
In a 9x13 pan or a 9x9 square pan, cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the bottom. spray lightly with cooking spray.
6.
Pour mixture in to pan and spread evenly using another piece of parchment paper to press in to the pan. When the bars are even take chocolate chips and sprinkle over the top and press those in with the parchment paper.
7.
Cover and let set to cool and set up.
8.
Remove from dish and cut into bars.
9.
Keep in refridgerator to extend life.
10.
Let warm to room temp for best eating experience.
