Black Bean Soup

Ingredients
1
lb raised and pickled-over dried black beans
2
cup chopped onion
1
tbs cumin
3
bay leaves
3
seeded and diced jalapeno peppers
4
cup boiling water
4
coups boiling fat free chicken broth
3
tbs fresh lime juice
1/2
tsp coarse salt
1/2
cup chopped fresh cilantro or garnish
reduced fat sour cream for garnish
Directions
1.
In a 4-quart or larger slow cooker, place beans, onion, cumin, bay leaves and jalapeno peppers.
2.
Pour water and broth all over. Cook on low 7 hours.
3.
Discard bay leaves. Stir in juice and salt.
4.
Ladle into bowls and garnish with cilantro and sour cream.
