Christmas Butter Cookies

This can be used for any holiday, really. We always did it for Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, and Valentines Day. The title just said Christmas when I was typing this up. So I kept it.

Serves 36people

Ingredients

cups flour

tsp baking powder

1/2

tsp salt

cup butter

3/4

cup sugar

egg

tbsp milk

1 1/2

tsp vanilla

Directions

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl.

Add egg, milk, and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients.

Roll out dough to 1/8 inch think, 1/3 at a time, refrigerating the rest.

Cut into fun shapes and place on greased baking sheets.

Bake 5-8 minutes at 400 degrees.

Make frosting. Seriously, you can just wing it, that's what we always did.

Sprinkle with colored sugar and sprinkles and cool stuff like that.
