Devil Dogs

I have no idea why they are called this, all I know is that its pretty much chocolate cake with cream in the middle so trust that it's good - really good.

Ingredients
CAKE
1/2
cup shortening
1
cup sugar
1
egg
1/2
cup cocoa
2
cups flour
1 1/2
tsp baking soda
1/2
tsp salt
1
tsp vanilla
1
cup milk
FILLING
3/4
cup butter
1 1/3
cups powdered sugar
1/2
jar marshmallow creme
1/2
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Cream shortening, sugar, and egg.
2.
Add cocoa.
3.
Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together, and add with milk and vanilla.
4.
Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
5.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes and let cool.
6.
Beat first 3 ingredients for the filling until creamy.
7.
Spread filling on devil dogs and top with another to create a sandwich between 2 cakes.
