Black Bean Soup

Should really be called bacon soup.

Ingredients

slices Bacon, chopped
2
Medium white onions, chopped
6
cloves Garlic, minced
14
oz (1 3/4 cup) chicken broth
2
tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1
tbsp Chili powder
4
cans Black beans, drained
3/2
cups Canned tomatoes, chopped
1
pinch Salt
1
pinch Pepper
1
bunch Green scallions, thinly sliced
For garnish. You can also use chunks of avocado, chopped cilantro, fresh lime juice, and sour cream.
Directions
1.
Render the bacon lardens for 4-5 minutes in a large pot.
2.
Stir in chopped onions and cook for 4-5 minutes.
3.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add broth, tomatoes, and spices. Add beans and heat on high until the soup comes to a boil.
5.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until thick. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6.
Add garnishes and serve hot.
