Lemon Loaf

Rich Lemon loaf, excellent as a base for berries and cream or just on its own! I like to poke holes in the top of the loaf then drizzle the lemon glaze, so more soaks in!

Ingredients
1/2
cup butter - softened
1
cup sugar

eggs
1/2
cup milk
1
/1/2 cups flour
1
tsp baking powder
1/2
tsp salt
2
lemons - zested and juiced
(zest is the finely grated lemon peel)
Directions
1.
Cream together;
2.
butter, sugar, eggs till light and fluffy.
3.
Add dry ingredients;
4.
flour, baking pwd.,salt and lemon juice and zest.
5.
Pour into greased loaf pan or 8" cake tin.
6.
Bake 350 45 min. or till a knife comes out clean.
7.
Glaze: Poour glaze over when still warm.
8.
1 cup sugar
9.
1/4 cup lemon juice
10.
heat together till sugar melts. Drizzle over cake.
