French Fries

This is a wonderful, healthy way to prepare French fries. It is a great side dish for Aunt Dee's Hamburgers. You can change garlic salt to another seasoning for a different flavor. The original recipe calls for Cajun spice...but I prefer garlic salt.

Prep
Cook
Serves 4people
Ingredients
4
-5 large baking potatoes
2
egg whites
1
tbs garlic salt
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 400°. Spray a cookie sheet well with 3 sprays of Pam.
2.
Scrub each potato to make sure all dirt has been removed.
3.
Slice each potato lengthwise into 1/4 inch ovals, then slice each oval lengthwise into French fries.
4.
In a medium mixing bowl whisk the egg whites and garlic salt until well blended.
5.
Add the potato and toss to coat each French fry with the egg mixture.
6.
Place the coated potatoes onto the cookie sheet and spread them out in a single layer, leaving space between each potato.
7.
Cook for 40-45 minutes turning the potatoes every 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
