Faye Zand's & Ruth Wald's Plum Kuchen

It's German for cake and tastes better than it sounds. Nice that various relatives put their twist on the humble plum.

Ingredients

cup Flour

Eggs
1
cup Sugar
1/4
lb Butter
1
tsp Baking powder
18
Italian (prune) plums
1
tsp Vanilla or Almond extract
For Topping:
1/4
cup Sugar
2
tbls Flour
1
tsp Cinnamon
Directions
1.
Blend butter and sugar together.
2.
Add flour, baking powder, eggs, and vanilla or almond extract, and mix well.
3.
Spread into greased cake pan.
4.
Cut plums in half and arrange over top of batter.
5.
Sprinkle plums with topping of Sugar, Flour, and Cinnamon.
