Spinach Cheese Swirls

These spinach cheese swirls looked and tasted fantastic! They were savory, and there was just the right amount of spinach and cheese. Additionally, the dental floss method for cutting the swirls was very effective. I would recommend sprinkling the tops of the spinach swirls with parmesan before putting them in the oven. This creates a richer flavor. In addition, make sure that when the dough is rolled out, it is not rolled out too thin as the filling ends up gushing out if it is. Also, I recommend adding red pepper flakes on top of the swirls after they have been baked to give a unique

Ingredients
1
sheet of puff pastry (pepperidge farm has 2 sheets in a package)
1
container of herb garlic cream cheese - (Alouette brand) we made our own
1
cup of frozen chopped spinach defrosted and drained
Directions
1.
Thaw pastry sheet at room temperature for about 40 minutes.
2.
Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
3.
Grease baking sheet or cover with non-stick foil.
4.
Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Roll gently.
5.
Mix cheese and spinach together.
6.
Spread cheese/spinach mixture on pastry sheet.
7.
Roll “jelly roll fashion” starting with narrow end.
8.
Cut into ½ inch slices.
9.
Lay slices flat on baking sheet.
10.
Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.
