Iced Sugar Cookies With Sprinkles

These sugar cookies are moist, butter and so delicious! Perfect for your next cookie swap or holiday gifting.

Ingredients
3/4
cup butter
1
cup sugar
2
eggs
1
tsp vanilla
2 1/2
cup flour
1
tsp baking powder
1
tsp salt
1
lb powdered sugar
1/3
cup butter
1/3
cup milk
1/2
tsp vanilla
pinch salt
sprinkles (optional)
Directions
1.
Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients.
2.
Chill at least 1 hour.
3.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
4.
Roll dough 1/8' on lightly floured surface.
5.
Cut into shapes of your liking (I used a mason jar lid to make circles).
6.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 6-8 minutes.*
7.
Let cookies sit on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Wait until cookies are cooled before frosting. While baking, whip up frosting.
9.
With electric mixer combine powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, pinch of salt and up to 1/3 C of milk. Add milk slowly until the frosting reaches desired consistency.
10.
Frost cookies and add sprinkles if that's your thing!

*I always cook mine for only 6 minutes unless I'm making larger cookies. If you have a really efficient oven you could even try 5 minutes. They don't really look done when you take them out, but once they cool they are perfection. If they are already browning before you take them out then they are overcooked. They should be moist and light.
