Stuffed Mushrooms

Edith's hearty stuffed mushroom recipe feature a flavorful mix of nuts, herbs, garlic, chopped mushroom stems and breadcrumbs. These tasty bites are perfect for an appetizer when entertaining family and friends!

Ingredients

large mushrooms, caps and stems separated
1
package frozen spinach, cooked and drained
1
small onion

tablespoons margarine
1/4
teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
1/2
cup dry bread crumbs
Directions
1.
Put through grinder or chop in processor the following: stems of mushrooms, spinach and onion. Saute this mixture in margarine for 4-5 minutes.
2.
Add remaining ingredients and stir over low heat for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
3.
Stuff mushroom caps with mixture and place on baking sheet. Pour a small amount of water in pan.
4.
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot. Can be frozen.
