The fetté is known to be a very peculiar and ancient dish of the Egyptian and Southern Levant area, an area that comprises Damascus, Beirut, Jordan and the Palestinian Territories while being mostly unknown and unheard in the Northern Levant. Also, it can a breakfast or a main meal.

Ingredients

pitas, cut into wedges.
1 3/4
cups (275 gram) chickpeas (canned or cooked), drained and rinsed.

teaspoon of salt
1
cup (225 gram) plain yogurt
3
cloves garlic, minced
1/2
teaspoon cumin
3
tablespoons lemon juice
2
tablespoons tahini paste
Directions
1.
Cut the pita bread into bite size pieces; then fry it.
2.
In a bowl whisk together yogurt, garlic, tahini, and salt. Set aside sauce.
3.
Boil chickpeas with water for 5 to 8 minutes. Drain and sprinkle with cumin.
4.
To serve layer toasted bread, chickpeas and yogurt sauce. Garnish with pine nuts and serve immediately. Enjoy!
