Ann's Crescents

This super-simple cookie recipe has been a family staple for decades, thanks to our cousin Ann. I grew up with these and they will always be a treat. They’re also virtually idiot-proof.

Prep
Cook
Serves 24people
Ingredients
1 1/4
cups all-purpose flour
1
cup finely ground almonds, or other nut of choice
1/4
cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for dusting
1/2
cup (1 stick) unsalted butter or margarine, softened
1
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Combine the flour, almonds, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the butter and vanilla. Knead with your hands until blended and moist.
2.
Pinch off tablespoon-sized pieces of dough and form into little crescents on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, and dust liberally with confectioners’ sugar.
