Aunt Ann's Sugar Cookies

Annabelle Iverson was a resident at our Health Center for three years. She was an amazing cook and loved baking pies, cookies, and bars. Liz Helt grew up baking these cookies and they will always serve as a fond (and sweet!) memory of her aunt.

Cook
Serves 12people
Ingredients
1
cup brown sugar
1
cup butter
3/2
tsp vanilla
1
cup powdered sugar
1
cup Wesson oil
2
eggs
1
tsp cream of tartar
9/2
cups flour
1
tsp salt
1
tsp baking soda
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 375.
2.
Cream the brown sugar and butter. Add the vanilla. Stir in powdered sugar and oil and mix well. Add eggs and beat until creamy.
3.
In a separate bowl, sift the dry ingredients--cream of tartar, flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to the other bowl and stir well.
4.
Form dough into balls and place on cookie sheet. Press balls down with sugar (sprinkle ball with sugar and use bottom of a mason jar to press down).
5.
Bake for 8-10 minutes!
