Stuffed Bell Pepper Soup

This wonderful soup tastes just like a stuffed bell pepper. I was so amazed w2hen a friend of mine told me to try it... who could have thought that you could have gotten that flavor.

Ingredients

lb lean ground beef
1
cup green bell pepper, diced
1
cup red bell pepper, diced
1
orange bell pepper, diced
1 1/2
cups onion, diced
3
cloves garlic, minced
2
can(s) 14.5 oz petite diced tomatoes with basil
1
can(s) 15 oz tomato sauce
2
cups chicken broth
1
tsp marjoram, dried
2
tsp basil, dried
2
tsp sugar
salt and pepper, to taste
3
cups cooked rice

Directions
1.
In a large skillet, brown ground meat over medium heat. Drain fat. Add diced peppers, onions, and garlic. Cook about 5-10 minutes over medium-low heat.
2.
Transfer ground beef mixture to a large Dutch oven or soup pot. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, marjoram, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
3.
While soup is simmering, cook rice. Just before serving, add rice to soup and mix thoroughly.
