Dad's Gingernut Biscuits

Ingredients
1/2
cup Butter
3/4
cup Golden Syrup
Self Raising flour (to be used until non sticky)
1/2
cup Brown Sugar
1
Desert Spoon ground ginger
pinch of nutmeg and salt
Directions
1.
Melt butter and syrup over low heat.
2.
Sift dry ingredients, then mix together and stir in melted butter and syrup. Mix well and let stand for 10 minutes. (Make sure that the mixture is not at all runny. If when you roll it, it sticks to your hands then pick it off and add more flour.)
3.
Roll into small balls, use a fork to lightly press down on the balls to slightly flatten and bake in slow oven for 15 mins or until golden (140-150ºC).
