Rawan's Falafel

Serves 6people
Ingredients
4
cups of dried chick peas
2
large onions
2
bunches of parsley
1
whole head of garlic
Hot green pepper to suit your taste
2
tsp Cumin powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1
tsp baking powder
1/4
tsp baking soda
Optional: Tomato for serving
Optional: Arabic bread for serving
Optional: Tehineh sauce
Directions
1.
Soak chick peas overnight.
2.
Drain chickpeas and combine with onion, garlic, parsley and hot pepper
3.
Grind twice and then add salt, pepper, cumin, and baking powder.
4.
Mix thoroughly
5.
When ready to fry Falafel, add baking soda and shape into patties about 1.5 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch thick
6.
Fry in deep hot oil until light brown
7.
Serve hot with tomato slices in Arabic bread. If desired, add Tahineh sauce.
