Whiskey Steak For One

A perfectly cooked steak with a whiskey garlic sauce. Great with fresh baked bread and roasted asparagus. Recipe is for a single serving, but can be easily converted for however many people.

Ingredients

Sirloin steak, or cut of choice
2
stalks green onions, chopped
2
garlic cloves, minced
olive oil
1/4
cup beef broth
3/2
oz Pendleton whiskey
s & p
Directions
1.
Heat oil in a non-nonstick pan to just smoking.
2.
Season steak with S & P and place in pan. Cook until steak slides easily around pan. Flip and cook other side until it slides. Sear uncooked edges, remove from pan and cover with foil. (Steak will be about medium at this point)
3.
Remove from heat and deglaze with whiskey, return to heat and add garlic, green onions and broth.
4.
Reduce heat to low and simmer until reduced by 1/2.
5.
Serve whiskey sauce over steak.
6.
Optional: Return steak to pan and melt 1 tbl butter over the top before serving with sauce.
